To register your team for the Dragon Boat Race, the team captain must complete the registration form, ensure all team members have signed a Waiver Form, and submit the registration fee, list of team members and waivers before the team registration deadline date. All signed Waiver forms must be submitted prior to the team training session on Saturday, May 15, 2010.
NOTE: Corporate/business teams cannot register at the Community Team rates. Community Teams division is intended for boy scouts, schools, and community service non-profit organizations. Organizations that operate for profit, including corporations, sole proprietorships, partnerships, etc. DO NOT qualify for the Community Team Division.

No previous experience is required. Participants must be able to swim. Trainers will be available the day before the race to train your team. Dragon boats, paddles, and PFDs (personal floatation devices) will be supplied by the Texas Dragon Boat Association.
Team Captains
Training Day, Saturday, May 15th, 2010
Your two hour training time will be assigned upon receipt of completed registration form and waivers. For best choice of available training times, turn in your registration forms early.
Please assemble your team for hands-on practice on Saturday, May 15th, 2010 at least half hour before your designated training time, on Lake Carolyn, Irving, Texas. The first 30 minutes will be spent on land working on warming up and getting a briefing on the sport and safety. This will be followed by about an hour of practice on the water. The last 30 minutes will be a cool down and stretching period. Note: all participants must have turned in a signed waiver to participate.
Race Day, Sunday, May 16th, 2010
Team check-in for day of race begins at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 16th, 2010 at the Festival grounds. All teams must be assembled by 9 a.m. on Sunday. The team captain meeting is at 9:15 a.m. where the race roster where be distributed. We will then begin loading the boats and positioning the boats at the start line. The opening ceremony is at 10 a.m., followed by the start of the dragon boat races. Teams will be paddling two heats, followed by finals.
